Top Picks

Soixante Neuf which is based in Los Angeles, was started by Joie Jager, a former actress.  She started her business part-time to keep herself busy while filming.  It didn't take long before she was noticed by a rep and then this became her full time venture.  Joie's style is feminine and bold which fits right into Swirl's sales.  Her goal is to make each piece unique so that you feel it was designed especially for you.

Gilt will be featuring three talented Korean labels, which I am all about supporting.  You'll find asymmetrical and edgy dresses, tops, vests and detailed jackets.  Eryn Brinie, a streetwear label, creates affordable clothes that combines European chic with New York style.  You can find their boutique in the trendy Soho area of New York City.  Hyden Yoo, a self-taught designer, released his first womenswear line this past spring.  He launched his first complete menswear line in the fall of 2008.  Hyden's goal is to bridge the gap between Wall Street bankers and Brooklyn hipsters by incorporating ideas from both worlds. His pieces are exquisite.  The Kai-aakmann brand is inspired by Carl Jung and as a result, the line strives to be ageless, seasonless and genderless.

If you are looking for something special for your mom, aunt, sister or best friend, the St. John sale at Rue La La is your best bet.  Founded in 1962, their line is elegant and made for sophisticated women over 40.  My mother is addicted to their famous Santana knit, which is their signature blend of wool and rayon.

Jill Jill Stuart, which is a lower-priced collection of dresses, launched this year.  She's known for her feminine and sometimes frilly pieces designed for the hip and young at heart.  I am really excited to see what the pieces look like in this collection at Ideeli.

DVF is one of my favorite designers, not only because she's an icon, but because she oozes a sexy, vibrant, confident and glamorous vibe which shows in her collections.  She revolutionized women's workwear with her famously sexy wrap dresses.  Okay, she is like a goddess to me.  Her shoes are bold, fun and feminine and should not be missed at the Gilt sale.

In 2005, Narciso Rodriguez was the first American to win the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year award two years in a row.  His style is American with a European influence.  He prefers to primarily use black and white because it presents a sharp and clean silhouette.  I absolutely adore the look below because of the simple black with the pop of pink.  His pieces have an architectural influence, which you can clearly see.  Make sure to check his collection out at Rue La La.

Donna Karan applies "heart, body and soul" to her collection, which is also applied to her shoes.  Her pumps, boots and t-straps are meant to enhance your style rather than overpower it.  She has solidified her place in the fashion world because of her timeless and current styles.  Check out her shoe sale at Ideeli.
