To Fur or Not To Fur?

Ah, the age old debate.  Below are pictures to help you judge for yourselves.  It seems that Ms. Beckham's PR people have stated that she only wears faux fur but the pictures state otherwise. They are gorgeous pieces and she shouldn't be scared to say what they really are, 100% real (in my opinion)!

I think real fur is beautiful but it's hard not to think about the slaughter of many  (the numbers vary  from 12 - 50) animals for one coat.  Would I dare to purchase and wear one?  I think I would, but only vintage.  What's the harm of wearing something that was manufactured thirty, forty or more years ago?  What some people would say is if you get down to the nitty gritty of it, no matter what, innocent animals were killed and it doesn't matter when it was.  I happen to think that it does matter because that was a long time ago people.  Recycling clothes helps the environment, doesn't it?  If you can help keep our planet clean in any way possible, then kudos to you!  The fact that you can recycle fur coats is a wonderful thing and it's a plus in my book.

PETA thinks that wearing faux fur contributes to the popularity of real fur.  I can usually tell the difference between real and fake, as I'm sure many of you can as well.  As you can tell, I don't agree with this statement but I consider myself open minded so they are entitled to their own opinions.  You can't make someone do something they don't want to and you should never do such a thing anyway.  Those terrible red paint incidents we hear so much about are just despicable!  I can understand your beliefs but doing such crazy things just makes you look like idiots.  Instead of acting like whackjobs, why not volunteer your time to help those animals that you care so deeply about?  Don't get me wrong, I'm an animal lover but I have to draw the line somewhere.  Just don't splatter my real or faux with paint or you will pay the price. Oh yes, you will pay dearly.
